Smart Motion Cancel is extra protection before the door moves. It works together with your opener's own safety sensors (photo eyes and auto-reverse), and doesn't replace them.
Watch SGO-3 work
SGO-3 with its Chamberlain remote, from tapping TOGGLE to the door moving: the live camera, the warning beeps and light, then the door opening. SGO-1 works the same way, wired to your wall-button terminals instead of a remote.

Yes, if
Your wall switch is a plain push button, like a doorbell, connected to the opener by two wires.
Not with SGO-1, if
Your wall control has a light button, a lock button, or a display. Those send a digital signal SGO-1 doesn't support. SGO-3 is designed for these garages.
You'll also need
Home WiFi that reaches the garage (SGO uses the 2.4 GHz band, which almost every router provides, including dual-band routers) and a power outlet near where you mount SGO.

SGO-3
For openers controlled by a remote, including wall controls with buttons or a display
SGO-3 has everything in SGO-1, including Smart Motion Cancel, its own light and the optional door sensor kit, but works through a certified garage remote instead of wiring to the opener. It's for garages where SGO-1 can't connect.
