Simple push-button wall switch

  • Two short wires to the opener's wall-button terminals. Nothing else needed.

Wall control with extra buttons, a display or a keypad

SGO presses the button of a garage remote instead. Choose one:

  • Send us your remote, free. After your order is complete, mail us a remote that already opens your door. We solder it to your SGO and ship them back together, ready to plug in.

Everyone hears it coming

Before the door opens or closes, SGO turns on its bright light, then beeps 5 times with 5 flashes. The door moves after 10 seconds, so anyone in the garage has time to step clear. SGO also listens: if your opener starts another way during the countdown (wall button or remote), SGO notices and cancels, so it never presses on top of it.

STOP works at any moment

Tap STOP during the countdown or while the door is moving and it stops right away. No passcode needed. Try it.

How setup works

Up and running in four steps

No electrician and no router settings. Your Device ID, activation code and SGO WiFi name come on a label in the box. Keep it.

  1. Connect and mount

    Push-button wall switch: unplug your opener and connect SGO's two wires to the same terminals as your wall button, plus (+) to red, COM to white. Remote: it comes already soldered to SGO, so just slide it into the holder. Mount SGO on the opener's hanging strap so the camera sees the door. Wiring help

  2. Plug in

    Plug in the included 5V adapter, then plug your opener back in. The yellow light blinks while SGO waits for WiFi.

  3. Join your WiFi

    On your phone, join the SGO WiFi from your label, open 192.168.4.1, enter your home WiFi and tap Save & Connect. Works with normal home routers, including dual-band. The yellow light turns solid.

  4. Register in the app

    Go to app.sgosmart.com and tap Register New Device. Enter your Device ID and activation code, your email, a password, and a passcode of 4 to 8 letters or numbers. Then log in and you're in control.

Is there a monthly fee?
No. There's no subscription. Your purchase includes 5 years of the app and cloud service with every feature: live camera, open and close from anywhere, family sharing, alerts and free updates. You never get a monthly bill.
What happens after 5 years?
Before your 5 years end, we'll email you. To keep everything running, you can renew for another 5 years for $49.99, one payment, less than $1 a month. If you don't renew, the app and cloud service stop (no remote open or close, no live camera, no alerts), but your garage opener, wall button and remotes keep working exactly as before. You can renew any time later to turn SGO back on.
Why does SGO need a cloud service at all?
SGO is live 24/7. It stays connected to our secure server so you can open your garage and watch the live camera from anywhere, at any moment, without opening ports on your home network. Running that server costs us every month. Your purchase covers it for 5 years, and the $49.99 renewal covers the next 5.
Will SGO work with my garage?
Yes. With a plain push-button wall switch, SGO wires straight to it. With a wall control that has a light button, lock button, display or keypad, SGO works through a garage remote: send us yours and we solder it free, or add a remote at checkout for $39.99. See compatibility.
Do I need to download an app?
No. The SGO app runs in any web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer.
What if something is under the door?
Tap STOP in the app and the door stops right away. Your opener's own safety sensors keep working as before.
